Two individuals died and one individual was taken into custody after a police pursuit led to a crash on the ten Freeway in Pomona on Friday afternoon, authorities stated.

The pursuit started at 4:41 p.m. and ended at 4:47 p.m. when a BMW crashed on a freeway offramp close to Cal Poly Pomona, Pomona Police Sgt. Rick Aguiar stated.

Two passengers had been ejected from the car and pronounced useless on the scene, stated California Freeway Patrol Officer Sergio Garcia. The CHP is investigating the crash, and Pomona police are investigating the pursuit and any potential felony prices, he stated.

The northbound 71 Freeway transition to the westbound 10 Freeway and the Kellogg Drive offramp have been closed due to the crash, he added. There was no timeline for reopening as of 10 p.m. Friday.

In response to KTLA, the chase started on the 71 Freeway and the BMW driver drove onto the westbound 10 Freeway within the flawed course. The motive force misplaced management of the car and struck a mud berm, inflicting the automobile to roll over a number of occasions, the station reported.
