Two-time main champion Jon Rahm has withdrawn from the 124th US Open because of a foot damage.

Rahm withdrew from the LIV Golf League occasion in Houston throughout Saturday’s second spherical due to an an infection in his left foot, then arrived for his pre-tournament press convention at Pinehurst No 2 sporting one shoe and one flip-flop.

The Spaniard stated on Tuesday he was uncertain if he would compete to the damage, which he admitted was a “concern”, then confirmed later that night he had withdrawn from this week’s main.

In a press release launched on his social media, Rahm stated: “After consulting with numerous doctors and my team, I have decided it is best for my long term health, to withdraw from this week’s US Open Championship.

“To say I am disenchanted is an enormous understatement! I want all my friends one of the best of luck and need to thank the entire USGA workers, volunteers and neighborhood of Pinehurst for internet hosting and placing on what I am certain shall be a tremendous championship! Hopefully I will be again in motion before later!”
