I’ve a brand new ebook popping out in June, and New Scientist is guilty. Again in the summertime of 2020, I wrote this column a few research led by computational social scientist Meysam Alizadeh, who labored to algorithmically predict waves of propaganda on Twitter and Reddit. Alizadeh mentioned he and his colleagues wished to create a “propaganda weather report” so that folks on social media could be forewarned about incoming affect campaigns.
