Auguste Rodin produced a decided efficiency beneath Ryan Moore to win the characteristic Prince Of Wales’s Stakes on the second day at Royal Ascot.
The Aidan O’Brien-trained 13/8 favorite, who was claiming his sixth Group One success, ran on gamely towards the far rail within the 1m 2f contest to repel the problem of French duo Zarakem (33/1) and Horizon Dore (7/1).
Following his earlier win on Illinois, the victory moved Moore on to the 81-winner mark at Royal Ascot – placing him degree with Frankie Dettori in second place behind Lester Piggott (116) on the all-time listing – whereas O’Brien was coaching the four-hundredth Group/Grade One winner of his profession.
Inspiral was gradual out of the stalls and was unable to strike a blow after racing on the rear for a lot of the race.
