MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia on Sunday denied a report that Ukraine’s assault on the Kursk area had derailed oblique talks with Kyiv on halting strikes on vitality and energy targets, saying there had been no talks with Kyiv about civilian infrastructure amenities.
The Washington Submit reported on Saturday that Ukraine and Russia had been set to ship delegations to Qatar this month to barter a landmark settlement halting strikes on vitality and energy infrastructure on each warring sides.
The Submit mentioned the settlement would have amounted to a partial ceasefire however that the talks had been derailed as a result of Ukraine’s assault on Russian sovereign territory.
“No one broke anything off because there was nothing to break off,” Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for Russia’s international ministry, mentioned of the Submit report.
“There have been no direct or indirect negotiations between Russia and the Kyiv regime on the safety of civilian critical infrastructure facilities.”
Ukraine’s authorities didn’t instantly reply to a Reuters request for remark. The Submit reported that Ukraine’s presidential workplace mentioned the summit in Doha had been postponed as a result of scenario within the Center East and that it will happen in video convention format on Aug. 22.
